We switch it up a little in today’s episode, and take the spotlight off of tacos and take a stroll down memory lane. Back in the early 80s, Isidro and his siblings would get done with school and spend the rest of their afternoon helping their parents clean, stock, and maintain the family food truck. Most kids around him got out of school and did the typical household chores before playing outside but his routine was a little different. Isidro wouldn’t want it any other way.
Isidro’s family had the advantage of extra food that didn’t sell on the truck that could make its way onto the breakfast or dinner table. While other kids got frozen waffles and bland cereal, Isidro would be eating tasty biscuits or scooping up chile verde pork burritos. Naturally, his house became the popular one of choice in the neighborhood. Meals from the family food truck still stand up to any taqueria today as some of the best Mexican food.
