On today’s bonus episode 2, we take trip down to southern California. Ontario California to be exact. Here, we are hosted by Israel Miranda, the owner of The Taco Man. He runs two locations in the outskirts of Los Angeles (east of LA) – in what is locally referred to as the Inland Empire. He also operates a thriving and efficient catering service out of the Ontario site.
We sit down with Israel and discuss a variety of topics. We start out with why and how he got the “The Taco Man” name. He has a very simple but driven reason.
We then discuss his take on what is an authentic taco? We discuss what his thoughts are with people who think Taco Bell tacos are a real thing. Again, his responses are passionate but fair.
We then dive into his journey. I love the moment when he describes being amazed at seeing a taco “house” come to a party he was invited to. And while everyone else was raving about the food they were serving, Israel was taken by what the couple in that mobile taco house was doing for a living.
Israel is very passionate about his business and he is very open about what feeds that passion! One of my favorite parts of our conversation is when he explains why he is able to provide great flavored tacos at such an inexpensive price. Very impressive!
If you visit, you will be greeted with a very friendly staff – but his food, his tacos are sure to put a huge smile on your face!

Israel’s dream is to one day open a taqueria in Mexico City. If you taste his food, you’ll know why that dream will someday become a reality!
